Ai Summit 2024 Recap Blog V3

The AI in Jacksonville: Business & Innovation Summit, hosted by JPMorganChase in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, brought together industry leaders in finance, healthcare, and technology to discuss cutting-edge AI applications and their potential impact.

In November, I had the privilege of attending and speaking at the AI in Jacksonville: Business & Innovation Summit. This exclusive event—hosted by JPMorganChase in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic—brought together hundreds of industry leaders to discuss cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications and their transformative impact on local enterprises. The summit included engaging sessions, such as an exceptional keynote from Alex Gorsky, retired CEO and Executive Chairman at Johnson & Johnson and current board member for JPMorganChase, Apple, and IBM.

I’m Jessica Wagner, Chief Operating Officer at RXNT, and in this recap, I’ll share two of my key takeaways from the Summit, highlighting points from my panel discussion on “AI in Software” with Linda Bammann, board member and former Deputy Head of Risk Management at JPMorganChase, and Ben Gilman, CTO and Co-Founder at Dualboot Partners.

How is Artificial Intelligence Being Used in Health Tech Today?

Artificial Intelligence has reached a pivotal point in healthcare, and adoption rates are increasing significantly as practices find value in tools like predictive analytics that forecast patient outcomes, natural language processing that transcribes medical notes, and chatbots that support patient appointment scheduling, messaging, and more.

Right now, major players in the healthcare industry are utilizing AI or launching significant AI initiatives to help improve patient care. The Mayo Clinic, for example, is using artificial intelligence to program computers to process and respond to data more quickly, leading to better treatment outcomes for strokes and heart disease. In addition, they’re working on more than 200 AI projects to support algorithm building, clinical implementation, and data availability. Johnson and Johnson is using artificial intelligence to speed up the discovery of new medicines by discovering what drives specific diseases, locating clinical research patients who could benefit from the study, and enabling more personalized care.

What’s Next for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare?

From occasional use to being a part of healthcare professionals’ daily routine—artifical intelligence has and is continuing to transform the healthcare market. In 2024, the market size of AI in healthcare was valued at 20.9 billion and is expected to reach 148.4 billion by 2029. With this growth, there is a consistent demand for new features and innovations that can help providers and practices streamline their workflows and improve patient care.

Practices that adapt quickly to the growing AI marketplace will be at the forefront of growth—but only if they understand these few things first:

  1. Partners—like RXNT—are here to help you deliver better care by integrating AI tools into the software systems that you use every day. In the near future, we’ll be offering additional AI tools to help practices with encounter summarization and anomaly detection to find inconsistencies between structured data and provider-written free text. These initial offerings equip practices with AI tools at their fingertips to make the adoption process even easier.
  2. Artificial intelligence doesn’t need to be a significant investment of your time and resources for it to have a major impact on your team’s day-to-day operations. There are off-the-shelf tools and solutions that can help streamline tasks and significantly improve workflows. Additionally, as you’re evaluating technology vendors to use for your practice, it’s important to invest in solutions that prioritize AI, like RXNT. As these companies evolve to meet the changing conditions of healthcare, AI will seamlessly become a part of your daily workflows.
  3. Be bold and engage in conversations around AI. AI is new for most, and the only way we can improve it and tailor it to continuously benefit the healthcare industry is if everyone feels empowered to speak up and share their perspectives. Ask questions, share ideas, surface risks and concerns, and be willing to stand up for what you believe in.

How Can Providers and Healthcare Professionals Start Taking Advantage of Artificial Intelligence Tools?

Choosing a healthcare software provider and integrating artificial intelligence into daily routines can be a daunting task, but it’s not one that you have to tackle alone. RXNT is building AI-powered functionality and if you’d like to learn more about how we help healthcare professionals succeed through the power of streamlined software, schedule a demonstration with our team.
